You're my favourite show. Except not. But I do love it, whereas I generally can't abide any other Star Treks, and I'm not sure why that is. I watched Star Trek: Nemesis last night, and it made me amazingly sad

I like how every film ends with Picard entering in a Kirk style arena battle with the main villain. He never strips down to his naked chest. |

Best bit was when Picard asks for a cup of Earl Grey tea, and then later on his evil clone asks for a cup of normal tea to show how different they are. |

The films assume you already know the characters, so there is no further character development, which kind of removed all the trek style atmosphere and makes the films all about the plot rather than the characters. The only exception is Data's emotion chip in Generations |

Agreed. The worst one is where they just spend all the time on a planet, and nothing even happens, and Picard has a crap love interest, and they've basically just made a film from a filler episode. |

Also, worst bit is in Insurrection when Riker manly proclaims, "We're through running from these bastards" Then a sidewinder joystick pops up and Riker pilots the Enterprise in 3-dimensional space using one joystick and it was the funniest and most stupid thing I have ever seen |

Also, Riker became fat and rubbish from season 3 onwards. In season 1 he was a slim clean shaven action man In season 2 he was a slim bearded action man who stood up to the Klingons on their own ship and took part in Worf's training programs In season 3 he suddenly became fat and rubbish |

When i first started watching it when I was 14, i actually empathised with Wesley, as we were about the same age. I even thought it wasn't fair when they kept telling him to shut up. I really felt sorry for him. He was only trying to tell them that it's not really Data, but Lore in disguise. But as I got older i understood, and joined the chorus telling him to shut up |

Oh yeah, some other things that bother me. In Nemesis Picard had photos of his younger self, being completely bald. But in the series he had flashbacks where he had a full head of hair when he first graduated from the academy, and it started receding. I mean for fucks sake you can still see that he has hair now at the back and sides |

He shaved it to look cool. Picardclone had massively fucked-up teeth. And you've got it all wrong - Riker clearly gains strength and power and sexiness the more massive and beardy he gets. |

I also liked how they decided to travel through that big nebula so they could be ambushed and it would be a bit like Wrath of Khan. Also, I liked how it made no sense at all that Shinzon wants to kill Earth with a stupid deathray that previously did not exist at all in Star Trek. |
