Everyone at AICN is saying it's an excellent, brave choice, but I think it's a bit poo. Tony Stark should be an emotionally closed off, egomaniacal closet homosexual with a 'stache of fury. Robert Downey Jr will no doubt play it like some vulnerable schoolboy that the ladies can't resist. It'll be Spiderman all over again. Who would've been a better choice? I suggest:

Ironically, Robert Downey Jr is almost certainly the Hollywood actor who is least likely to be in this category (if he were to indulge in some bumming, it'd be right out on the street in front of horrified on-looking tourists). The obvious choise is Clooney. For everything. (It's just ocurred to me that George Clooney will almost certainly be the US president someday (only after he dumps those dreadful lefty values, natch). What a terrifying thought.)

However - these figures have been up on the BBC's site since this morning, it's just only now that they've 'clicked' with me - and of course, it's currently midnight, meaning that it's still only 4pm on the US west coast. I would strongly, strongly expect for it to have taken enough since the BBC article first went up, to counter-effect inflation.

It comes quite recommended, but only if you already think you'll like it. Robert Cokehead and Jeff Dude are the best things about it, the premise is utterly absurd and the last third is a complete ripoff of Robocop. Stark would take Wayne in a billionaire tycoon luchadore fight any day though.

It was pretty good, I like Robert Downey Jr although I think I've only seen him in this and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I liked the flying and the explosions best (SPOILER WARNING). I was looking forward to the scene where the family's picnic basket falls down the crack in the hillside but it never came.
